I was reading one of those get to know you emails where you share personal information with your friends. One of the questions made me really thing for a moment. “What are you afraid of?” After a brief pause, I typed, “Self-deception.” One of the reasons that the wicked fall and do not recover is that their pride has blinded their eyes and they see no need for the mercies of Christ. They believe that they already walk in the truth, so they never search for it. There is no greater darkness than to be in the darkness and believe that you are in the light.
