When will no harm befall us? Well, certainly when this is God’s will and it does not conflict with the big picture. Harm surely fell to Christ and to the disciples that followed Him because it was God’s will to accomplish something permanent by sacrificing something temporary. But we may rest in the knowledge that nothing can touch us unless God permits it. And, since all things work together for the good of those who love Him when He allows something to harm us, it will ultimately turn out to help us. Are we mincing words? Not at all, for if it is God’s desire that no harm befall us, then no harm shall, no harm at all. But a child might regard the nurse’s needle as a threat when the parent knows better. To fully appreciate the violent strokes of the Artist we must wait to see the whole and completed canvas. 6/10/2009 Conversations Within ts
