“It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.” Ps.127.2 NASB
One point these words make to us is that God cares for His own and not only by teaching us a good work ethic but a wise one. I do not think these words are meant to dissuade us from ever working long hours, but I should think that long seasons of this, spell burnout. Everyone has crisis to manage but if every day is a crisis then some root issue needs to be addressed. Imagine how silly it would be to bail water out of a sinking boat without taking time to first plug the hole. 7/24/2009 Conversations Within ts
