I have often commented to friends that most people are not seeking religion but happiness. Jesus assures us that the joy of living comes from a meaningful relationship with His Father. Relationship then, not religion fills the hole in our hearts. But even though this is true, there are specified activities people must practice “religiously” as well as truthfully if we are to interact with God in Christ. Prayer is one of them and although practiced religiously as conversation is in all relationships, it never needs to be practiced as perfunctory. 8/10/2009 Conversations Within ts
