“I'm here to help you.” The Guardian

“O LORD, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear.” Ps.10 ESV

Beyond our words, God hears the desires of our heart. This is especially true when affliction fine tunes the deepest longing in us. God hears, He doesn't just listen. When God hears us He does not listen like a spectator He hears as a participant. To hear is to understand. Jesus is perfectly suited to sympathize with our weakness; this is one reason He entered time and space and took to himself of body of flesh and blood. He understands suffering because He has suffered. He not only has suffered, He shares our suffering. “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” Ps.68 NIV He does not lower a basket for us to climb out of the icy waters, He jumps into the sea with us and assures us that everything with be alright. 12/27/2010 Conversations Within ts (Gunterhill AL)
