To say that life is the sum of our choices is just another way of saying that life is the sum of our desires, at least our strongest ones. Don't we always choose our greatest desire when we are able to do so? The key then to right choices would be to feed the right desires. We must stoke the stove of all we know to be good and right and true if its fire is to burn the brightest in our conflicted heart. Christians believe that this is where grace comes into play. God helps us by working in us proper desires that compete against those natural desires which have run amuck. 2/22/11 Conversations Within ts (Birmingham, AL)
