It is one thing to care about your reputation from the standpoint of credibility and entirely another for reasons of vanity. What people think about me is only important in so far as it serves to help them on the road to life. There is a fine line of caring what people think about us as it lends credibility to the path we have chosen and another to scratch the itch of our self worth from the opinions of others.
