“The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” Stephen R. Covey

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Mt.6.33 ESV

I think that Jesus is not telling us to seek God’s kingdom first and then attend to our own affairs. All affairs duly belong to Him. Certainly there are tasks that God assigns to each of us and we should give proper attention to them but we may seek God’s kingdom first in all the business, even the play of life. To seek God’s kingdom is to seek His goodness and glory. We do this best by embracing and enjoying His company, His fellowship, His word and wisdom. Everything then, taking a walk, even mundane actions such as cutting grass or preparing dinner, become acts of worship and service to God. But let us not forget to seek His righteousness or perhaps better His justice, as the word can be translated. I may take a walk with Him in the morning; He may lead me to walk the streets of the oppressed that afternoon. 1/9/2010 Conversations Within ts
