“Wake up…” Rev.3.2 ESV
I believe that waking to the presence of God is one of the more difficult yet essential lessons that we must learn. One reason this is difficult is that until the spirit is awake and willing the flesh is weak. The reason the flesh is weak because it is functioning without soul—somewhat like a body operating without a brain. Our physical senses are constantly inviting us to interact with the physical world but until the soul wakes, our interactions with the physical world are only distractions to real world of the Spirit. When the soul wakes up, our eyes, ears and other senses are no longer distractions but can serve our interactions with God.
