“Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.” 1Jo.3.2 ESV
If all the things said about us in the Scriptures are true, especially those things said about being in Christ, then why are we still so unlike Him? I think the answer, which is also told us in the Scriptures, is that it has “not yet appeared what we shall be.” We are in an already but not yet state very much like someone who is elected President in November but must wait on inauguration day in January before they experience everything it means to be President. There are many things said about us in glory that have yet to come to us. In Christ, the direction of everything in our lives has changed. Our inauguration tomorrow is certain; we might as well live like it as best we can today. 4/6/2010 Conversations Within ts
