Many things in life change value with the slightest turn of events. Consider the oft-told story of the woman who ran to her stateroom and grabbed two oranges ignoring her diamond jewelry as she hurried to a lifeboat on the Titanic. Crisis brings our values into focus. This is why the Spirit of God is always encouraging us to set our affections on the eternal state rather than our short-lived life in this campground.
