Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion. Pro.11 ESV
It is fascinating that we can take pride in knowing that we have a problem with pride. It is certainly a good thing to know one's undesirable traits but only when this knowledge lead us to do something about them. To admit what you are doing is wrong but then refuse to stop doing it is like seeing your neighbor's house catch on fire but not calling the fire department. Modesty is the result of not only knowing your faults but dealing with them. Modesty is a restraining influence. It moves us to be humble about our strengths and repentant about our shortcomings. Modesty is the twin sister of humility. 10/10/11 Conversations Within ts (Pisgah National Forest, NC)
