“To be able to ask a question clearly is two-thirds of the way to getting it answered.” John Ruskin

“Your word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path.” Ps.119

It has taken me a long time but I am learning the value of a properly placed question. I am not talking about asking someone a question so you can give them the answer. It is true that a good question will often help others think through their answer and in that sense asking something is intended to help them. But, learning to ask the right questions and listening to the experiences of others can make all the difference in the world when it comes to “living and learning” or “learning then living”—the latter of course being preferred. 10/8/11 Conversations Within ts (Durham, NC)
