“Discipline is remembering what you want.” David Campbell

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Pr.25 ESV

If a person without discipline is defenseless before personal appetites, imagine how well defended is the disciplined soul. A person who has learned to assign true value to what they really want is powerful. We might think that a person without self-control is weak willed. Actually, there is no such thing as a weak will, only an untrained one. The Spirit of Christ offers to serve as our personal trainer. He encourages us to examine our desires and through simple repetition, He helps incline our hearts to chose superior ones. The key in one sense is not wanting less but wanting more. Saying no to a lesser desire is only waiting for another train to a better destination. 8/11/2010 Conversations Within ts
