By telling us that there are many ways not to worship God, Jesus is helping us find the right way to do so. One would think that people would appreciate this. After all, who likes driving down dead end streets. Unless of course there is something down a dead end street I really want. In that case, one may care a great deal more about what they want rather than what is true. People often opt for a feel good religion over the kind of friendship offered by Jesus. His friendship will never allow us to choose what is convenient over what is true. I quite agree with one dear brother who said, “One must keep on pointing out that Christianity is a statement which, if false, is of no importance, and if it is true, of infinite importance.” 8/13/2010 Conversations Within ts
