Just me trying to be honest with God.

Every heart like every instrument must be tuned if it is to hear the melodious sonnet sung by creation.

“The LORD is to be praised!” Ps.113 ESV

It may sound kind of strange to us that someone would ask for praise. But far from some egotistical itch, God is not commanding people to praise Him because He needs admirers but because it is beneficial to us. We do the same thing every time we ask a child, “Now what do you say?” after we have given them something. It is wholesome for children to learn to say thank you. It is equally wholesome for grown-ups to grow in our appreciation of all that God is for us in life. God knows this and so, we are encouraged to praise Him. He knows that every time we do, we are reminded of where to find the “fount of every blessing,” so we don't go wasting our time chasing happiness where it cannot be found. 9/20/2010 Conversations Within ts
