Just me trying to be honest with God.

“We're not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be” C.S. Lewis

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things.” Rom. 8 NIV

If God loved Jesus, His beloved Son from all eternity, and He was willing to give him over to such sufferings as we read about in the Scripture, then surely none of us is safe from similar trials. That God did this to His Son because He loved the world is of great comfort to me. But it also tells me something about His priorities. He is willing to hurt in order to heal. He will sacrifice the temporal for the eternal. And also, so very important, He will do whatever can be done within the limits of His own goodness to secure our greatest good.
